F Shape Barrier

This section defines F-shape barriers on the right side of each deck span.

Steps

Step 1: Navigate to F Shape Barrier

Navigate to Superstructure Attachments > F Shape Barrier in the tree view.

Step 2: Select Deck

Click the three-dots icon on the Deck cell and select Span1.

Step 3: Set Barrier Orientation

Select the orientation for the right side of the deck.

Step 4: Set Material

Set the concrete Material to Fc_3_2ksi_NoStiffness.

Step 5: Set Transverse Location

Set Start Transverse Location and End Transverse Location to Right.

Step 6: Enter Dimensions

Navigate to the Dimension tab and enter the barrier dimension parameters.

Step 7: Create Barriers for All Spans

Repeat the previous steps to create F-shape barriers for Span2 and Span3. Enter names for each barrier.

Barriers are included in the FE model to distribute Wind Forces across the structure.
