Superstructure Construction
This section defines the construction sequence for all superstructure components.
Overview
Steel girder erection and deck pouring sequence is a critical process in the construction of a steel bridge:
Steel girders are erected and braced
Deck formwork is placed on girders
Concrete deck is poured in stages
Each pour stage is followed by a stiffness gain stage when concrete hardens
OpenBrIM platform offers the capability to model all stages involved in steel bridge construction, including deck construction, complete girder erection for design purposes, and partial girder erection and temporary support construction for the erection process.
Sections
Define complete girder and bracing erection
Configure deck pouring and hardening stages
Define barrier and attachment construction
Complete superstructure construction before defining loads and combinations.
