Single Element [CBS]

Users may want to ensure the stability of girders during the analysis of girder erection. Girders that are not connected with bracings may be unstable. To address this issue, the girders are supported at temporary support locations, and this element can be utilized for this purpose.

To create a temporary support under the girder and manage its construction/deconstruction, please refer to the Quick Guide available at the link below.

General

Insertion Point: 'Pick..' or 'Select..' an insertion point to define the location of the single element.

Girder: Pick the girder to be supported.

Support Loc On Girder [Top/Bottom]: The single element can support the girder from either its top side or bottom side, determined by this parameter. This definition will affect both the FEM and the 3D model.

Station: The station, relative to the PGL, of the single element's girder portion can be specified using this parameter.

Section: The section of the element will be assigned to the beam elements in finite element analysis.

Transverse Offset: Transverse offset of the single element from the insertion point, measured perpendicular to the PGL. A positive value shifts the element to the right when looking up-station (default: 0).

Fixity

Tx [Fixed=-1/Free=0]: Translational restraint along the global X axis at the single element support. A stiffness value may be entered instead of the Fixed/Free sentinel (default: Fixed=-1).

Ty [Fixed=-1/Free=0]: Translational restraint along the global Y axis at the single element support. A stiffness value may be entered instead of the Fixed/Free sentinel (default: Fixed=-1).

Tz [Fixed=-1/Free=0]: Translational restraint along the global Z axis at the single element support. A stiffness value may be entered instead of the Fixed/Free sentinel (default: Fixed=-1).

Rx [Fixed=-1/Free=0]: Rotational restraint about the global X axis at the single element support. A stiffness value may be entered instead of the Fixed/Free sentinel (default: Fixed=-1).

Ry [Fixed=-1/Free=0]: Rotational restraint about the global Y axis at the single element support. A stiffness value may be entered instead of the Fixed/Free sentinel (default: Fixed=-1).

Rz [Fixed=-1/Free=0]: Rotational restraint about the global Z axis at the single element support. A stiffness value may be entered instead of the Fixed/Free sentinel (default: Fixed=-1).

Segment: The segment this temporary support carries.

Station (readonly): Station of the temporary support along the alignment, derived from the selected insertion point. (Read-only)

Bearing Rotation: Rotation applied to the bearing at the top of the temporary support.
