# Pier Cap/Bent Construction (Partial) \[PIG]

## Pier Cap Construction

If a pier cap is to be partially constructed and the user wants to evaluate the creep and shrinkage effects of each deck pour, they should use this object. However, in most cases, a pier cap is constructed in a single stage, and this can be accomplished using the pier cap/bent (complete) object.

**Stage:** Choose the stage for constructing the pier or bents.

**Pier Caps/Bents:** Choose the pier caps or bents for construction.

**Cut Station (From Right):** The cut station serves to delineate the boundary of the elements being constructed.

**Const. Direction \[Left/Right]:** The construction direction is utilized to define the area being constructed. If "right" is selected, the area to the right of the cut station will be constructed.

**Self-Weight Factor**: The Self-Weight Factor is a parameter used to adjust the contribution of an object's own weight in structural analysis. This factor is particularly useful in simulations, as it enables the scaling or modification of the self-weight during finite element analysis (FEA).

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.openbrim.org/templates/precast-i-girder-bridge-workflow/construction-pig/substructure-construction-pig/pier-cap-bent-construction-partial-pig.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
