# X Type Diaphragm \[SPIG]

## Location

**Girders:** Pair of Spliced I Girders connected by the diaphragm. The diaphragm is drawn between the two picked girders.

**Skew Angle:** Rotation of the diaphragm about the vertical axis, relative to the line perpendicular to the alignment. Use angle units; zero is perpendicular to the alignment.

**Station\[Start/End]:** Longitudinal position of the diaphragm along the PGL, entered as a distance. Use Start to reference from the span start, End to reference from the span end.

## Sections

**Diagonal Chord Section:** Structural shape assigned to the X diagonal chord members (e.g., an angle or WT section).

## Vertical Stiffener

**Vertical Stiffener Thickness:** Thickness of the vertical stiffener plate welded to the girder web.

**Vertical Stiffener width:** Width of the vertical stiffener plate measured transverse to the web.

**Vertical Stiffener Depth:** Depth of the vertical stiffener plate measured along the girder web.

**Vertical Stiffener offset from top:** Distance from the top of the girder web to the top of the stiffener.

**Vertical Stiffener offset from girder web center:** Horizontal offset of the stiffener from the girder web centerline.

## Cross Frame Member Data

**Diag. chord offset from top:** Distance from the top working-point of the diagonal to the top flange (defines the diagonal's top end offset along the web).

**Diag. chord offset from bottom:** Distance from the bottom working-point of the diagonal to the bottom flange.

## Geometry

**Diag. chord Vert. offset from top edge of section:** Vertical distance from the top edge of the chord section to the diagonal working point.

**Diag. chord Vert. offset from bottom edge of section:** Vertical distance from the bottom edge of the chord section to the diagonal working point.

## Referencing Objects

**Structure States:** Optional list of structure states that activate this diaphragm in specific construction configurations.

## Quantities

**Volume:** Total steel volume of the diaphragm, computed from the chord and stiffener sections (Read-only).

**Weight:** Total weight of the diaphragm, computed from the chord and stiffener sections times material density (Read-only).

**Diagonal Chord Material:** Material assigned to the diagonal chord section, shown from the diagonal section's material link (Read-only).

**Diagonal Chord Section:** Section name of the diagonal chord (Read-only).

**Top Chord Material:** Material assigned to the top chord section (Read-only).

**Top Chord Section:** Section name of the top chord (Read-only).

**Bottom Chord Material:** Material assigned to the bottom chord section (Read-only).

**Bottom Chord Section:** Section name of the bottom chord (Read-only).
