# Truss Cable \[TB]

A truss cable is a straight cable member that frames between two Truss Insertion Points. Unlike pylon-anchored cables, the truss cable is used to connect two nodes of the truss directly and is modeled as a cable (tension-only) finite element.

## General

**Insertion Points:** The two Insertion Points defining the start and end of the cable. Exactly two insertion points must be picked from previously defined Truss Insertion Points. The user must provide a value.

**Section:** Cross section assigned to the cable. Use a section previously defined under **Properties > Sections** or import a new one. The section area and material control the cable's axial stiffness and weight.

## FEA

**Mesh Size:** Maximum distance between finite-element nodes along the cable. Smaller values refine the cable discretization; larger values reduce solve time. Used by the FE line-mesh generation.
