# Pier Cap Code Check T

This section creates code check templates for pier caps and end bents.

## Steps

### Step 1: Navigate to Pier Cap Code Check Template

Navigate to **Templates for Code Check and Load Rating > Pier Cap Code Check** in the tree view.

### Step 2: Create Templates

Create two templates:

* **PierCapCT** - for pier cap code checks
* **EBCapCT** - for end bent code checks

### Step 3: Assign Load Combination Table

Click the **three-dots icon** on **Load Combination Table** and select **SubstructureLCT**.

Since pier caps and end bents are substructure elements, use the substructure load combination table.

### Step 4: Configure Parameters

Set the following parameters:

| Parameter                                 | Value                                        |
| ----------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| Procedures for Shear Resistance (β and θ) | Generalized                                  |
| Include axial effects on flexure/shear    | Yes                                          |
| Flexure Sign (Effective Shear Depth)      | Use Critical Shear Concurrent Bending Moment |

### Step 5: Set State Provisions

Click the **three-dots icon** on **Select State Provisions** and assign **FDOT** for both templates.
