Rectangular Footing
Navigation: Substructure > Foundation > Rectangular Footing

Step 1: Click three-dots on the first cell of the Substructure and pick the pier columns PierColumn1, PierColumn2, PierColumn3 and PierColumn4


Step 2: Enter the Footing Width as 44.

Step 3: Enter the Footing Length as 20.

Step 4: Enter the Thickness as 6.

Step 5: Keep the Longitudinal Offset and Transverse Offset as default.

Quick Tip: Transverse & Longitudinal Offset
Longitudinal Offset = It offsets the foundation along the alignment.
Transverse Offset = It offsets the foundation on the y-axis perpendicular to the alignment.
Rotation = It rotates the XY plane.

Step 6: Click the three-dots icon on the Material cell, and then select Fc_4ksi.
If you have reached this stage and you don't have a material to select, and if you want to use the Import Button, you can refer to the Quick Tip.



Quick Tip: Learn how to import materials
If there is no material to be set, follow the steps below:
- Click the three dots on the cell and select Import Material.
- In the opened window, choose the material. - Click the Import button.

Step 7: Keep the Rotation as default.

Step 8: Keep the FEM parameters as default.

Step 9: Set name as Footing1.

Step 10: When the steps are completed, the shared screenshot displayed in the adjacent cell should be visible in the 3D view of OpenBrIM.

The completed rectangular foundation are illustrated below. Please verify that you have the same model on your end by examining each view provided here. For more information on how to perform visual checks, refer to the quick tips.

Click on the arrow button above the Analysis button located in the upper-left corner of the OpenBrIM screen.

Click on the Model button on the screen that opens up.
