FEA Bearing
Navigation: Superstructure > Bearings > Fea Bearing

Step 1: Click three-dots icon on Insertion Point cell and click Select.

Step 2: Select Insertion Point as a IP1 and Click OK.

In this part, dofs are assigned to nodes. The coordinate system of the each insertion point changes along the support line and alignment. According to this new coordinate system, new dofs should be assigned.
Tx/Ty/Tz/Rx/Ry/Rz fixities are shown below.

Bearing Rotation parameter rotates the support clockwise in the XY plane.

Step 3: Keep the Tx as default.

Step 4: Click the three-dots icon on the Ty and Tz cell, and then set Fixed.

Step 5: Keep the Rx, Ry, Rz, Bearing Rotation and Transfer Forces to Substructure as default.

Step 6: Keep the bearing’s name as default.
Step 7: When the steps are completed, the shared screenshot displayed in the adjacent cell should be visible in the 3D view of OpenBrIM.

Click on the arrow button above the Analysis button located in the upper-left corner of the OpenBrIM screen.
