Gusset Plate
This section defines gusset plate connections for cross-frame members, including plate geometry and bolt arrangements.
Step 1: Set Connection Type
Click the three-dots icon on the Connection Type cell and select BOLTED.
An issue may appear after this step. This is normal and will be resolved when the bolt property is set in the next steps.
Quick Tip: Reading Issues
When encountering a warning in OpenBrIM, review your parameters for missing or incorrect values.
Click on the warning to see details. The format is: Component Group > Component Name > Parameter Name.
Step 2: Assign Material
Click the three-dots icon on the Material cell and select A709_50W.
Quick Tip: Importing Materials
If no material is available:
Click the three-dots icon and select Import Material
Select the material and click Import
Navigate to the Bolt tab.
Click the three-dots icon on the Bolt Property cell and select BoltGusset.
Step 4: Set Bolt Arrangement
Click the three-dots icon on the Bolt Arrangement cell and select Edit.
Enter the following values:
Row
Bolt Row Count at Each Column
Step 5: Set Bolt Spacing
Configure the bolt spacing parameters:
Vertical Dist. btw Bolt Center and Edge
Horizontal Dist. btw Bolt Center and Edge
Return to the Plate tab and set the plate parameters:
