Substructure CADD [CUG]

In bridge projects, a substructure CAD drawing is a technical drawing that details the bridge's underground or lower structure. The term 'substructure' refers to the portion of the bridge that supports the structure above it, typically including foundations, piers (supports), and other underground elements essential for the bridge’s construction.

Substructure CAD drawings are crucial for engineers and designers to ensure the proper construction of the bridge’s foundation and lower structure. These drawings help guarantee that the underground elements are constructed accurately and safely throughout the building process.

In contrast to other code checks, the drawings are presented in the CAD section.

In the CAD interface, located at the bottom left of the screen, users can select the desired drawing.

General

Support Line: This parameter determines which support line should be referenced when creating the CAD drawing.

Substr. Drawing Method [Orthogonal to PGL/ Normal to Skew]: This parameter determines whether the drawings should be created perpendicular to the Profile Grade Line (PGL) or along the skew direction.

General Visual Setting

Show Superstructure [YES/NO]: This parameter defines the addition or removal of superstructure elements in the drawings.

Dimension Line Font Size (Only .dgn): This parameter controls the font size of the text on dimension lines in bridge drawings. This setting is specific to DGN format files and ensures the text remains clear and legible according to the drawing's scale and design. DGN is a file format commonly used in CAD software such as MicroStation.

Annotation Font Size: This parameter is used to specify the font size of the annotation.

Superstr. Cutting Station (Normal to Alignment): This parameter is used when there is a need to display superstructure elements in the drawings. The corresponding drawing can be shown by setting the station value at which the section of these elements is to be taken.

Show Vertical Dimension Lines [YES/NO]: This parameter is used to activate or deactivate the dimension lines defined in the vertical direction within the drawing.

Show Bearings [YES/NO]: This parameter allows the bearing drawings in the CADD file to be activated or deactivated.

PGL Visual Setting

Display PGL Ref. Line [YES/NO]: This parameter allows the PGL Reference Line in the CADD file to be activated or deactivated.

PGL distance Dim. Line Vert. Offset: This parameter determines the offset value of the vertical dimension line. To activate this parameter, the 'Show Superstructure' setting in the General Visual Settings tab must be set to 'NO'.

PGL Ref. Line Dist. above PGL: This parameter defines how far the PGL reference line is positioned above the PGL.

Superstr Visual Setting

Lane Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the offset value of the lane dimensions in the vertical direction, measured from the deck edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Display Lane and Shoulder' setting in the Superstr Visual Settings tab must be set to 'YES'.

Roadway Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the offset value of the roadway dimension in the vertical direction, measured from the deck edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Display Roadway Width' setting in the Superstr Visual Settings tab must be set to 'YES'.

Align. to Barrier Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the vertical offset of the 'align to barrier' dimension, measured from the deck edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Display Barrier Dim. Lines' setting in the Superstr Visual Settings tab must be set to 'YES'.

Barrier Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the offset value of the barrier dimension in the vertical direction, measured from the deck edge in the drawing.

Out-to-Out Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the offset value of the out-to-out dimension in the vertical direction, measured from the deck edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Display Out-to-out Dim. Line' setting in the Superstr Visual Settings tab must be set to 'YES'.

Curb-to-Curb Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the offset value of the curb-to-curb dimension in the vertical direction, measured from the deck edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Display Curb-to-curb Dim. Line' setting in the Superstr Visual Settings tab must be set to 'YES'.

Dist. from Alignment Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Deck Edge: This parameter determines the vertical offset value of the alignment dimension, measured from the deck edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Show Dist. from Alignment to Deck Edge' setting in the Superstr Visual Settings tab must not be set to 'NO'.

Structure Depth Horizontal Offset from Deck Left Edge: This parameter determines the offset value of the structure depth in the horizontal direction, measured from the deck left edge in the drawing. To activate this parameter, the 'Show Vertical Dimension Lines' setting in the General Visual Settings tab must be set to 'YES'.

Show Dist. from Alignment to Barrier Edge [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Distance from Alignment to Barrier Edge' can be enabled in the drawings.

Show Dist. from Alignment to Deck Edge [Both Sides/Right Side/Left Side/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Distance from Alignment to Deck Edge' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Roadway Width [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Roadway Width' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Lane and Shoulder [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Lane and Shoulder' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Barrier Dim. Lines [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Barrier Dimension Lines' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Roadway Thickness [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Roadway Thickness' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Superelevation [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Superelevation' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Out-to-Out Dim. Line [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Out-to-Out Dimension Line' can be enabled in the drawings.

Display Curb-to-Curb Dim. Line [YES/NO]: This parameter controls whether the 'Curb-to-Curb Dimension Line' can be enabled in the drawings.

Column Visual Setting

Restrict Columns [YES/NO]: If enabled, columns are restricted to a specified height [YES=1/NO=0].

Restrict Columns Height: Specifies the maximum height to which columns should be restricted in the drawing.

Display Column Dim. Line [All Columns/One Column/None]: Controls which columns have dimension lines displayed [All Column=2/One Column=1/None=0].

Column Elev. Dim. Line Horz. Offset from Col. Edge: Sets the horizontal offset distance for column elevation dimension lines, measured from the column edge.

Column Trans. Dim. Line Vert. Offset from Column Bot.: Sets the vertical offset distance for column transverse dimension lines, measured from the bottom of the column.

Column Group Trans. Dim. Line Vert. Offset: Sets the vertical offset distance for column group transverse dimension lines.

Footing Visual Setting

Display Footing Dim. Line [All Footing/One Footing/None]: Controls which footings have dimension lines displayed [All Footing=2/One Footing=1/None=0].

Footing Horz. Dim. Line Vert. Offset: Sets the vertical offset distance for footing horizontal dimension lines.

Footing Vert. Dim. Line Horz. Offset: Sets the horizontal offset distance for footing vertical dimension lines.

Pile Visual Setting

Show Piles [YES/NO]: Controls whether piles are displayed in the drawing [YES=1/NO=0].

Restrict Piles [YES/NO]: If enabled, piles are restricted to a specified height [YES=1/NO=0].

Restrict Pile Height: Specifies the maximum height to which piles should be restricted in the drawing.

Display Piles Vert. Dim. Line [All Piles/One Pile/None]: Controls which piles have vertical dimension lines displayed [All Piles=2/One Pile=1/None=0].

Piles Vert. Dim. Line Offset: Sets the offset distance for pile vertical dimension lines.

Abutment Visual Setting

View Direction [Show Front Face View/Draw Along Stationing]: Controls the viewing perspective for abutment drawings [Show Front Face View=0/Draw Along Stationing=1].

Dim. Line Offset: Sets the offset distance for abutment dimension lines.

Transverse Elevation Offset: Sets the transverse offset distance for abutment elevation representation.
